✔️ Zipties* (find them at Walmart, Target or DG)

✔️ Ziplocs* (various sizes)

Tag Printing Reminders:

  • All tags must be printed on white card stock.

  • Regular paper or colors other than white cannot be accepted.

Books & DVDs

How to tag Clothing:

  • Hangable clothing must be on hangers with hook opening facing left like a question mark(?).

  • Any hanger type is accepted, but we recommend adult-sized wire hangers for all sizes.

  • When facing the item, attach tag to the front-top-right using a safety pin or tagging gun. Tags placed anywhere other than the right side of clothing cannot be accepted.

  • If using a tagging gun, fasteners must be placed into a seam (like under the arm) to avoid holes in the fabric. Fasteners placed outside of a seam cannot be accepted.

  • For sets, pin together with bottoms behind tops so that bottoms are visible.

  • Remember! Clothing MUST be free of stains, holes, odors, and excessive wear or fading.

  • Stain removal: We recommend Grandma's Spot Remover, Tuff Stuff foam cleaner, or the OxiClean family of products. Always test for colorfastness on a small area first.

How to tag Shoes:

  • Fasten together with zip ties (our favorite method).

  • Hole punch tags and run zip tie through before fastening.

  • Cleaning: In many cases, shoes may be machine washed and air dried. Magic Erasers work wonders on on white soles. Armor-All shines up Crocs!

How to tag Small Items (socks, hair bows, etc):

  • Place in ziplocks and tape tag to the outside.

  • Stain removal: Many hair bows may be machine washed on cold and air dried. Never put hair bows in the dryer.

How to tag Toys, Games & Puzzles:

  • Make sure all parts are present and in good working order.

  • Don't forget working batteries in electronic items!

  • Place small loose items in ziplocks and place them inside or tape to outside.

  • Use Saran wrap to secure board puzzles!

  • Attach tags with packing tape in a visible location.

  • Cleaning: Magic Erasers work wonders on dingy plastic items. Spot clean fabric toy parts with Tuff Stuff foam cleaner.

How to tag Books & DVDS:

  • Secure sets in gallon or oversized ziplocks with titles listed in the tag description.

  • Attach tags with packing tape in a visible location.

Tagging FAQs

What supplies do I need to tag my items?

It depends on what sort of items you're tagging, but most consignors will need white card stock, clothes hangers, safety pins (or tagging gun), ziplocks and packing tape.

Am I required to use a specific type of hanger?

We do not require any specific hanger type, but adult wire hangers are our fav for consigning! They maximize space on our racks and work great for all clothing sizes.

Do I get my hangers back after the sale?

No, each hanger is sold with the item. Hangers are inexpensive and can be found at Walmart, Target, or local dollar stores. Sometimes department stores will even give them away for free! It's also a great idea to save up hangers from new clothing purchases for consigning.

My printer's down. What can I do?!

Consider having a friend print for you, or visit a local office supply store for super reasonable printing services.
